Residential Hybrid Solar Installation – 8kW System

For this project, we designed and installed a hybrid solar power system for a modern residential home using the Deye SUN-8K-SG02LP2 Hybrid Inverter. The system was built to reduce grid dependence while providing reliable backup power during outages.

System Configuration

  • Hybrid Inverter: Deye 8kW Hybrid Inverter
  • Solar Panels: 16 × 550W Monocrystalline Panels
  • Total Solar Capacity: 8.8 kW
  • Battery Storage: 4 × 5.12kWh Lithium (20.48kWh total)

Estimated Energy Production

With average Caribbean sunlight of about 5 peak sun hours per day, the system is capable of generating approximately 40–45 kWh per day, or about 16,000 kWh annually.

Backup Performance

The 20kWh lithium battery bank allows the home to run essential appliances such as lighting, refrigeration, internet, and electronics for up to 18–24 hours during grid outages.

Additional Components Installed

  • Aluminum rooftop mounting system
  • Solar DC isolators and surge protection
  • AC disconnect and grid protection
  • Battery protection breakers
  • Remote system monitoring

This installation provides the homeowner with a reliable renewable energy system capable of significantly reducing electricity costs while ensuring energy security through integrated battery storage.
